The Rockford Area Breakfast Club (RABC) hosted our first event to kickoff The Rock - Rockford Area Breakfast Club and introduce it to the community. The skies cleared and people of all ages came to hear from the Mayors of Rockford and Greenfield, as well as the founder and Rockford Alum Steven Berhow among others, about the history of this community project thus far.
With the official 501c3 non-profit filing approved and land purchased, it was time to reveal the concept to the community and gather support. Support will be accepted in all forms from cash donations to time and talent. Several area individuals and businesses have already lent their services and labor to get The Rock on its feet to where it is today.
After the brief program at the mic on the flatbed trailer, the crowd stopped traffic crossing the street to the future home of The Rock, where the sign was unveiled revealing the building rendering, QR code to scan for more info and website address. The event wrapped up back across the street under the tent in the Rockford Community Center parking lot with food, conversations and connections - plus handouts and take aways such as bracelets and decals featuring The Rock.
